North Charleston day care employee accused of ‘slamming,’ hitting infant

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) – A day care employee is now under arrest for allegedly abusing a baby over the summer at a Christian preschool.

Gladys Rampersant, 75, of North Charleston, is charged with unlawful conduct toward a child.

These charges stem from a reported July incident that occurred at Sweetgrass Christian Academy on Remount Road.

Detectives say Rampersant was engaging with a baby, less than a year old, yanking them up by the arms and shaking the infant hard before “slamming” them into a crib…
