Day care employee accused of ‘slamming’ baby into crib, hitting them on the head, police say

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC/Gray News) – A day care employee in South Carolina was arrested for allegedly attacking a child at a Christian preschool, authorities said.

Gladys Rampersant, 75, of North Charleston, is charged with unlawful conduct toward a child.

These charges stem from a reported July incident that occurred at Sweetgrass Christian Academy.

Detectives say Rampersant was allegedly engaging with a baby, less than a year old, yanking them up by the arms and shaking the infant hard before “slamming” them into a crib…
