WCBD’s original Hurricane Hugo special ‘Wrath to Restoration’ to stream on WCBD+ for 36-year anniversary

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – Sunday will mark 36 years since Hurricane Hugo slammed into South Carolina. The powerful Category 4 storm came crashing into the Lowcountry on the night of Sept. 21, 1989, and made landfall near Charleston around midnight on the 22nd.

As we look back on the impact the storm had on the entire South Carolina coast, News 2 will stream its original award-winning two-hour special program, ‘Hurricane Hugo: Wrath to Restoration’ from 1989 on the WCBD+ streaming channel Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
