North Charleston’s Chief Camacho may shave his mustache if CrimeWatch app hits 10,000 subscribers

The North Charleston Police Department began using a new community-focused app over the summer, designed to keep citizens informed about crime and active incidents, and allows people to make online reports.

It also shares great things happening within the department and highlights community-focused initiatives.

In a July 14 interview with News 2, North Charleston Police Chief Ron Camacho said the app will allow his agency to communicate directly with the public. “They can communicate with us anonymously directly,” he said, adding, “We can start that good engagement, sharing information, and they can help keep the community safer by sharing information and helping us solve and prevent crime.”

Here’s an outline of the Chief’s Challenge:

  • 2,500 Subs = Chief gets dunked
  • 5,000 Subs = Chief rucks to City Hall
  • 10,000 Subs = Say goodbye to the mustache
