Charleston County raccoon tests positive for rabies

CHARLESTON COUNTY, S.C. (WCIV) — A racoon in Charleston County tested positive for rabies Sept. 18, exposing one person, and bringing the county’s 2025 positive rabies count to seven.

The South Carolina Department of Public Health confirmed Monday that the rabid racoon was found near Hale Street and Cornish Avenue.
