$8.3 million awarded to Lowcountry victims’ services groups

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) — Dozens gathered at North Charleston city hall on Wednesday to announce new federal and state funding to help support victims of abuse or crimes.

South Carolina was recently awarded more than $26 million in federal grants, with more than $8.3 million going to groups in the Lowcountry. The money is designated to support organizations and agencies that serve people going through some of the hardest times of their lives.
