CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) – Tropical Depression Nine, is expected to lift northward towards the Lowcountry early next week! First Alert Weather Days have been issued for Monday and Tuesday in advance of strong wind gusts and a growing concern for heavy rainfall and flooding.
THIS WEEKEND: A cold front will inch across the Lowcountry today before stalling on Sunday. Occasional rain and thunderstorms are likely today. Slow-moving storms will be capable of producing heavy rainfall and ponding on the roads. Rain chances will become more isolated on Sunday before we see a lull in activity Sunday night. Afternoon highs will be in the upper 70s and lower 80s.
EARLY NEXT WEEK: Tropical Depression Nine is forecast to consolidate into Tropical Storm Imelda, and will move northward in response to our weak upper-level low. Outer bands will likely trickle in throughout the day with rounds of rain expected to begin no later than Monday night. These bands may be capable of producing sporadic gusts; waterspouts and isolated tornadoes cannot be ruled out through Tuesday if conditions warrant…
