CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) — Many Lowcountry residents are breathing a sigh of relief after learning Tropical Depression 9 will not make landfall along the South Carolina coast. But while the system is trending out to sea, local power crews say they’re not letting their guard down.
The National Weather Service reports the storm is shifting eastward, sparing South Carolina from a direct impact. Still, officials warn that heavy rain and strong wind gusts could lead to flooding and possible power outages.
