CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – Some downtown roads are closed Friday morning because of tidal flooding.
Forecasters with the National Weather Service said high tide would occur around 11 a.m.; however, they noted that saltwater flooding was possible one to two hours before and after high tide.

A coastal flood warning is in effect from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. on Friday, in anticipation of saltwater inundation.
The following roads are currently closed in the Charleston area, according to the Charleston Police Department:
- Ashley Avenue at Wentworth Street
- Barre Street at Montagu Street
- Calhoun Street at Courtenay Drive
- Church Street at South Market Street
- Concord Street at North Market Street
- East Bay Street at Market Street
- Fishburne Street at Hagood Street
- Lockwood Drive at Montagu Street, Broad Street, and the exit for US 17
- Montagu Street at Gadsden Street
- US-17/SC 61 split
- SC-30 Connector toward Lockwood Boulevard
- South Market Street at Meeting Street
- Washington Street between Laurens Street and Hasell Street
