The main mission of every police officer is to protect and serve those who can’t protect themselves – and that sometimes includes animals. One brave officer from Charleston, South Carolina, proved exactly that.

On a bright afternoon, Officer Batiz received a call about a kitten stuck inside the engine of a Jeep. He immediately headed out to help.

When he arrived, he called in another officer for assistance, and the two worked patiently and carefully until they managed to free the tiny black kitten from her terrifying trap.
