CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) — The process of rezoning a family-owned horse farm on Johns Island to build new housing is underway after the Charleston County Planning Commission narrowly approved a new application.
Storybook Farm first submitted a rezoning request in April 2025, but county staff and the commission unanimously disapproved it, and the request was eventually withdrawn.
“This came before you this year, and it was denied because it was too dense, too tall, not enough affordable housing,” said Joseph Tecklenburg with Clement, Crawford & Thornhill Inc., representing the owners. “We feel this plan addresses those issues.”…
