Man arrested after firing shots and barricading himself in North Charleston home

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) — A man was arrested early Friday morning after he allegedly fired shots in a wooded area and then barricaded himself inside his home, according to the North Charleston Police Department.

Robert Hamby, a 40-year-old, was arrested and charged with breach of peace and discharging a firearm within city limits.

The report from officers states that they responded to the 5000 block of Thornton Drive at approximately 9:45 p.m. in response to multiple complaints about gunfire behind residents homes.

Upon arrival, police report that Hamby was seen emerging from the woods before fleeing into his residence through the back door. Officers issued multiple commands for Hamby to exit the home, however he refused…
