Units respond to partial building collapse in downtown Charleston

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – Crews are responding to a partial building collapse in downtown Charleston on Friday afternoon.

First responders are on the scene at 1001 King Street, a possible vacant building next to Rodney Scott’s BBQ. Damage is visible from the exterior walls of the building.

City officials confirmed that there is verified damage to the roof as well. The outdoor patio at Rodney Scott’s and a small apartment building to the south have been evacuated while crews investigate.

Part of King Street, surrounding the building, is temporarily closed. No injuries have been reported yet…
