Millions lose SNAP benefits as Lowcountry steps up to help those in need

LOWCOUNTRY, S.C. (WCIV) — Millions of Americans are losing their Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits this month, leaving many wondering where their next meal will come from. In South Carolina, over half a million people are affected.

Lindsey Barrow, Jr., CEO and founder of Lowcountry Street Grocery, emphasized the urgency of the situation, saying, “We’re talking about kids mostly, right?”
