CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – With the holidays approaching fast, organizations around the Lowcountry teamed up Wednesday to provide meals for families in need.
Thanksgiving is nearly a week away, and as many families are having to pinch pennies to meet holiday demands, organizations throughout the Lowcountry stepped up, providing everything from meals to utility assistance.
“We’re wrapping up the year, holidays are around the season, and a lot of people are having to unfortunately choose between making a meal for Thanksgiving, providing for the children, paying other bills,” said Brianna Holman, the community relations coordinator at Palmetto Community Action Partnership. “If we can just eliminate something off their plate, that’s what we’re here to do.”…
