A 23-year-old Hendersonville resident was severely injured in a high speed, single vehicle accident on Ritter Road Saturday November 15th. The westbound Chevrolet Suburban failed to negotiate a curve, crossed to the eastbound shoulder and struck an oak tree. The Suburban received heavy damage. The driver was not wearing a seatbelt and suffered multiple traumatic injuries. Colleton County Firefighter-Paramedics arrived and began treating the patient at the scene. CARE Flight responded to the field behind Fire Station 25 on White Hall Road and flown to the Trauma Center at MUSC in Charleston. The SC Highway Patrol is investigating the MVC.
