CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) — Thousands of people filled the streets of downtown Charleston Thursday morning for the 48th annual Turkey Day Run and Gobble Wobble 5K, the largest Thanksgiving Day race in South Carolina and now one of the biggest in the nation.
This year set a new record. Organizers say 9,500 runners and walkers registered for the race, selling out by mid-afternoon on Wednesday. The winner crossed the finish line after running 3.1 miles in just over 15 minutes.
