North Charleston police arrest man on drug and firearm charges

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) — A man was arrested Wednesday after police discovered drugs and a firearm during a proactive patrol, according to the North Charleston Police Department.

Anthony James Rivers, a 35-year-old, was charged with possession of fentanyl, possession of methamphetamine, possession of a firearm by a person convicted of domestic violence and possession of a firearm of a person unlawful.

The report on the incident states that during proactive patrols in the area of Rivers Avenue, officers approached rivers who was already known to police for trespassing and drug violations.
