Police report reveals differing accounts in council members’ confrontation at Utah bar

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) — New details have emerged in the dispute between two North Charleston City Council members after Salt Lake City Police released a report Tuesday evening showing conflicting accounts of their disagreement in Utah.

In the police report, both Michael Brown Jr. and Nefertiti Brown claim they were assaulted by the other. Michael Brown told police he was struck in the groin three times with a knee at the Lake Effect Bar while in Utah for the National League of Cities Summit. Meanwhile, Nefertiti Brown said she also had injuries from the exchange, including a swollen wrist after Michael Brown “dug his wrist” into it, according to the report.
