Rain impacts several area holiday events

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – Forecasted rain on Friday and Saturday has prompted schedule changes for several holiday events happening around the Lowcountry.

Hanahan rescheduled its Christmas tree lighting and holiday vendor market to Dec. 12 from 5 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. at the Hanahan Amphitheater. For now, the Hanahan Exchange Club’s parade on Saturday is expected to continue as normal.

The Town of Sullivan’s Island cancelled its planned fireworks display for Friday night and will not be rescheduled; however, the town said all other scheduled holiday events will continue, including the Wando High Chorus, which will be held inside the Sullivan’s Island Fire Station. Santa will still meet under Town Hall, and the lighting of the fire station, Stith Park, and big oak will continue…
