WADMALAW ISLAND, S.C. (WCBD) – The St. Johns Fire District announced Tuesday that investigators have determined the cause of a fatal house fire that broke out on Wadmalaw Island over the weekend.
Fire crews responded to the 6600 block of Maybank Highway around 4:30 a.m. on Sunday after passersby saw heavy flames erupting from a home.When firefighters arrived, they saw the fire venting through the roof.
Later, they found one person deceased inside the home. The Charleston County Coroner’s Office has not yet publicly identified the deceased…
