Community invited to honor lives lost to homicide at annual candlelight service

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) — The Survivors of Homicide Support Group will be hosting its 26th Annual Candlelight Vigil and Service of Remembrance on Friday, inviting the community to come together and remember those lost to homicide.

Attendees are invited to gather under this years theme, “solidarity”, and feel comfort and a sense of connection while in the presence of other members of the community as they honor the lives lost to homicide.

Those interested in attending are invited to bring an unframed photo of their loved one to be displayed on the Tree of Remembrance during the duration of the service. According to the organizers, the photo aims to serve as a reminder of the lives celebrated and the prolonging legacies that continue to inspire others…
