A famous chef from New York City visits a Charleston shelter to feed the homeless lunch.

Chef Daniel Humm from Eleven Madison Park in New York City served a hot lunch to over 100 people at One80 Place shelter in downtown Charleston on Wednesday, December 10, 2025.

Chef’s Involvement

Humm, currently in residency at Charleston Place Hotel, co-founded Rethink Food, a nonprofit tackling food insecurity through chef-led initiatives. He described finding fulfillment beyond fine dining by addressing a “missing piece” in his career via community service.
