Warming centers opening amid extreme cold temperatures

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – Warming shelters are expected to open starting Sunday as a strong arctic cold front brings bitterly cold temperatures to the Lowcountry.

Seacoast Church Summerville will be open Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday for those seeking a warm place to stay.

Guests can head to the shelter at 301 E. 5th N. Street in Summerville and be admitted starting at 7 p.m. each day. Checkout is at 7 a.m. the following morning.
