CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) — A strong cold front will move through the Lowcountry today bringing a major temperature drop this afternoon and evening. Morning temperatures will start out in the upper 50s and low 60s with temps peaking around midday. That’s when a strong cold front will move through the area, increasing the wind and initiating the start of our temperature fall. A few showers will be possible this morning with the chance of rain fading away by lunchtime as the cold front moves offshore. Temperatures will fall from the 60s this morning to the 40s by late this afternoon. It will be very breezy today as well with winds turning to the north at 15-25 mph with higher gusts this afternoon. The wind will add to the chill this evening with wind chills dropping into the upper 20s by 8-10 PM.
Expect a very cold night ahead with blustery conditions out the door Monday morning. This is why Monday morning continues to be a ‘First Alert Weather Day’. Morning temperatures will be in the low to mid 20s with wind chills between 10-15°.
Despite sunny skies, highs will only top out in the low 40s Monday afternoon. Another cold night is expected Monday night but less wind should help out a little Tuesday morning. Overnight lows will be in the 20s…
