LOWCOUNTRY, S.C. (WCIV) — Multiple warming shelters will open Sunday evening due to the cold temperatures forecast to sweep through the Lowcountry.
Hibben Warming Shelter in Mount Pleasant will be open on Sunday and Monday, with decisions on additional days to be made 48 hours in advance. Doors open at 7 p.m. and no guests are allowed in after 11 p.m., with departure by 7 a.m. the following morning. Guests who need a ride to the shelter can meet at Mary Conway Park at America and Columbus Streets at 6:45 p.m., and CARTA will return guests downtown the following morning.
Seacoast Church Summerville will open its warming center Sunday through Tuesday, with doors opening at 7 p.m. each night. Pets are allowed at Seacoast Summerville and guests must check out by 7 a.m. the following morning, but a takeaway breakfast will be provided…
