Historic Charleston waterfront home to sell at Sotheby’s Concierge Auctions

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – The Nathaniel Ingraham House, an iconic waterfront home that sits along Charleston’s Battery, will be up for auction come January.

The historic estate was first built between 1810 and 1818 at 2 Water Street by merchant and naval officer Nathaniel Ingraham, who served aboard John Paul Jones’s Bon Homme Richard.

Bidding managed through Sotheby’s Concierge Auctions will begin on Jan. 15, 2026, with starting bids expected to range from $7 to $10 million.

The auction is part of ‘Visions of America,’ a week-long series celebrating art, luxury, and American craftsmanship at Sotheby’s headquarters…
