Berkeley County School District approves rezoning plan

BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C. (WCSC) — Berkeley County School District approved a rezoning proposal to address overcrowding as the district prepares to open two new schools.

The board adopted “Option F,” which redistributes student numbers while the district adds Bee Tree Elementary and Midtown Middle schools. The plan affects about 10 schools across the district.

Under the approved plan, the district says students living on Fairwinds Boulevard toward Black Tom Road will attend Bee Tree Elementary and remain in the Berkeley Middle and Berkeley High School feeder pattern. Students on Fairwinds Boulevard toward Cane Bay will attend Bee Tree Elementary before returning to Cane Bay Middle and Cane Bay High schools…
