More than 700 acres of Charleston Museum property moving forward in conservation

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) — The Dill Sanctuary property on James Island is on its way to having protection from future development.

City of Charleston leaders are working to support a conservation effort for more than 700 acres of land along the Stono River on James Island.

The effort stems from the nonprofit organization Lowcountry Land Trust. The organization is looking to put the land under a property easement in an effort to protect the wildlife refuge for future generations…
