CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) — A Lowcountry organization that serves the unhoused and vulnerable people in our community is helping those in need just in time for the holidays.
The services The Navigation Center provides go beyond one’s immediate crisis, from housing and food support, medical needs, and financial assistance; truly a one-stop shop for those seeking help.
“Every Christmas, what we recognize is that a lot of families, especially at the last minute, that are coming in for financial assistance or utility assistance, or some of them that are even that we’re placing in emergency housing,” Navigation Center Director Marie Elana Roland said. “We ask, you know, ‘Were you able to take care of your children for Christmas?’ And most of the time, it’s a no.”…
