SUMMERVILLE, S.C. (WCSC) — The Town of Summerville is encouraging residents to recycle their Christmas trees through an annual program that turns the trees into mulch for public spaces.
The Christmas Tree Recycling event is a collaboration between the Town of Summerville, South Carolina Department of Environmental Services and Summerville Parks & Recreation. Residents can bring their holiday trees to the collection site at Gahagan Park, where they are chipped and repurposed into fresh mulch.
