Charleston County deputies seek information in deadly 2018 shooting

CHARLESTON COUNTY, S.C. (WCSC) — Seven years after a Charleston County man was gunned down outside his home, investigators renewed a call for leads.

Charleston County deputies said 39-year-old Aubrey Zanders walked outside his house in the 1200 block of Ashley Hall Road at around 1:10 a.m. on Dec. 27, 2018, to take out the trash while his girlfriend was asleep inside the home.

While outside, deputies believe that he saw someone trying to break into a storage building. During an apparent encounter, someone shot him.

Before he died at an area hospital a short time later, Zanders was able to partially describe one of his assailants as a man with dreadlocks…
