Traffic checkpoint results in 68 citations, 58 warnings: police

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) -Local law enforcement agencies conducted a joint traffic safety checkpoint and shared the results of their enforcement efforts.

The Moncks Corner Police Department, Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office, and, with assistance from the South Carolina Highway Patrol, conducted the checkpoint, issuing 68 citations and 58 warnings.

According to the Moncks Corner Police Department, here are the statistics of their results:

  • Driving Under Suspension (DUS): 4
  • Uninsured Motor Vehicle: 2
  • Improper Display of Plate: 1
  • Speeding: 43
  • Reckless Driving: 1
  • No South Carolina Driver’s License: 6
  • Expired Tag: 8
  • Careless Operation: 1
  • Failure to Maintain Proof of Insurance: 2
