Storm Team 3: Storms likely Saturday PM, isolated severe storms possible

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) — Friday was a cloudy but dry and warm day across the Coastal Empire and Lowcountry.

Saturday looks to be very warm again, but we add the chance for strong and severe storms to the forecast.

Friday night and into Saturday morning will remain mild with low temperatures in the upper 40s to lower 50s. Moisture levels will be increasing due to a southwesterly breeze which will lead to a few passing showers developing overnight.

STORMY SATURDAY

Saturday morning will start off with a few passing showers, but rain will become more widespread near lunchtime. However, scattered rain and storm chances become more likely during the afternoon and into the evening hours.

Pockets of steady and heavy rain will develop after 3 p.m. and will continue into about 8 p.m. A few strong and severe storms are possible as the associated cold front begins to sweep through the region…
