North Charleston’s warming shelters, like Aldersgate Methodist Church, handle high demand from cold holiday weather with limited volunteers from Holy City Missions. Around 16 volunteers serve up to 70 guests nightly, facing challenges from holiday travel but succeeding through outreach.​

Operations and Services

Intake runs 7-9 p.m., offering hot meals, beds, showers, breakfast, and service referrals. Staff connect guests—homeless, car-dwellers, or partially housed—to programs like 180 Place. Sites include Aldersgate (1444 Remount Road), Hibben United Methodist, and Seacoast Summerville.​
