CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – Dozens of protesters gathered at Marion Square on Sunday, calling for an end to violence and opposing U.S. involvement in Venezuela.
Groups such as the Lowcountry Action Committee and the Democratic Socialists of America joined the rally, part of a wave of demonstrations across the country.
Matt Colburn, a protester with the Lowcountry Action Committee, said, “We’re here to call for an end of the proposed U.S. occupation of Venezuela, to free President Nicolás Maduro, and for the U.S. to end its illegal, criminal aggression against Venezuela and the Venezuelan people.”…
