MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. (WCSC) — Leaders in the Town of Mount Pleasant may soon set in stone a tested solution to the problem of speedy drivers through one neighborhood.
The Mount Pleasant Transportation committee will decide Monday whether temporary roundabouts installed three months ago on McCants Drive and Center Street should become permanent fixtures to address ongoing speeding concerns.
The roundabouts were installed as an experiment to collect data on speeding in an area where residents say drivers regularly exceed the 25 mph speed limit, reaching speeds of nearly 36 mph at the fastest point…
