Police find convicted felon with a loaded gun Friday morning: NCPD

NORTH CHALRESTION, S.C. (WCBD) – A convicted felon was arrested Friday morning after North Charleston officers found him with a loaded handgun.

The North Charleston Police Department said that around 2:30 a.m. last Friday, an officer witnessed a vehicle fail to stop at a stop sign at the intersection of Fairwind Drive and Otranto Road. Shortly afterward, the vehicle was stopped on Jenny Lind Drive near Scholar Lane.

The NCPD officers reported smelling marijuana coming from the vehicle, which prompted them to conduct a probable cause search. During the search, the officers discovered a loaded handgun on the front passenger-side floorboard…
