South Carolina county’s narcotics probe yields mixed outcomes

BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) – One person was found not guilty and five others pleaded to charges after a monthslong narcotics investigation in Berkeley County.

Charges were dropped against 13 others arrested by the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office, which conducted a 6-month undercover narcotics investigation between 2020 and 2021.

Deputies had received multiple complaints regarding suspicious activity around DeWitt Road in the Macedonia community. The investigation resulted in the initial arrest of 14 people on various charges. Three others were arrested later and charged following a search by authorities.
