Dates set for Charleston’s MLK Day Parade, programs

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – Charleston is preparing to honor the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. with a full slate of events leading up to the YWCA Greater Charleston’s annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day Parade.

This year’s theme, “Honoring the legacy. Marching with purpose,” sets the tone for one of the Lowcountry’s most cherished community traditions.

MLK Day Parade

The parade will once again fill the streets of downtown Charleston with music, movement, and messages of unity.

Lineup begins at 8 a.m., and the parade will stop off at 10 a.m. from Burke High School and will wind through the streets of downtown Charleston before ending near Emanuel AME Church…
