New bill proposes South Carolina sheriffs to partner with federal immigration authorities

In 1947, the City of Charleston donated the Robert E. Lee highway marker to the Charleston chapter of the United Daughters of the Confederacy (UDC). It was installed at what is now the Charleston School of Math and Science, where it stood for decades.
