CHARLESTON, S.C. (WBTV) – Aloka, the dog accompanying Buddhist monks on their peace walk across the United States, reportedly had successful surgery in South Carolina, walk organizers said Monday.
Buddhist monks have been doing a “Walk for Peace,” in which they’re journeying from Texas to Washington, D.C. with their loyal dog Aloka. The monks had made it to South Carolina, and were projected to reach Chester County by the night of Monday, Jan. 12.
On Monday, the monks said that Aloka had a successful hourlong surgery at the Charleston Veterinary Referral Center.
