A Goose Creek woman was convicted of stealing from patients of a nursing home.

Courtney Jeanine Brown, 49, from Goose Creek, received a 33-month federal prison sentence for stealing about $146,000 from 132 vulnerable residents at Riverside Health and Rehabilitation in North Charleston.

Case Details

Brown served as the facility’s business office manager and exploited her role over three years by writing checks from residents’ personal funds to cash, depositing them into her account for personal use. Most victims were physically or mentally incapacitated, highlighting the breach of trust. U.S. District Judge Bruce Howe Hendricks also imposed three years of supervised release and ordered $160,300.69 in restitution, with no federal parole available.
