North Charleston man charged with having stolen gun after traffic stop

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) — A man was arrested after North Charleston Police officers discovered a stolen gun during a traffic stop Thursday night.

Rashad Aykeem Bradley, 28, is charged with receiving stolen goods valued at less than $2,000, according to jail records.

Officers were conducting a proactive patrol near Dorchester Road and Constitution Avenue just before 9 p.m. when they detected a strong marijuana odor coming from a vehicle. They continued to smell the drug as they followed the vehicle until they initiated a traffic stop.

When they approached the vehicle, they saw heavy smoke inside with the marijuana odor becoming stronger, which led officers to conduct a probable cause search of the vehicle. Inside, they discovered a gun located directly beneath the driver’s seat. Records checks indicated that the gun was reported stolen from Dorchester County…
