CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) — The Charleston Police Department will be conducting traffic safety checkpoints Friday night as part of their ongoing effort to promote safe driving and reduce impaired driving.
Officers will be out conducting patrols beginning between 9 p.m. and 11:30 p.m. at the following locations:
- Highway 61 near Wallace School Road
- Morrison Drive near Johnson Street
Drivers at a checkpoint can expect their licenses to be verified, with officers checking for signs of impairment, ensuring proper child restraints are in place when applicable, and address any visible violations.
