Mace’s animal abuse registry proposal gets mixed reviews from local shelters

CHARLESTON , S.C. (WCIV) — Animal abuse. It’s a troubling crime, and the numbers are troubling in the Palmetto State.

South Carolina ranks 40th out of 50 states when it comes to laws protecting animals from cruelty and abuse. Representative Nancy Mace says if she’s elected governor, she will crack down on the troubling trend of animal abuse. One of her plans would be to create an animal abuse registry in South Carolina.
