North Charleston man arrested after stealing car from local dealership

DORCHESTER COUNTY, S.C. (WCIV) — Dorchester County sheriff’s deputies arrested a North Charleston man Thursday after a pursuit involving a stolen vehicle, authorities said.

Deputies were notified shortly after 1 p.m. that a vehicle had been taken from a local dealership and was traveling along Dorchester Road toward Ashley Phosphate Road, according to the Dorchester County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies in the Ashley Phosphate Road area located the vehicle stopped at a red light and attempted a traffic stop using emergency lights and sirens. The driver failed to stop and fled at a high rate of speed, prompting a pursuit, authorities said…
