Suspect found in Florida, charged in Moncks Corner mosque shooting

MONCKS CORNER, S.C. (WCBD) — Police have identified and charged a suspect in connection with a shooting at a Moncks Corner mosque that left one man hospitalized with multiple gunshot wounds.

Investigators say 25-year-old Mahmud Massod Mohammad is in custody in Santa Rosa County, Florida, facing charges of attempted murder and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime. The charges stem from a shooting that happened Sunday at the Muhajirun Wal Ansar Mosque.
