Snow and dangerously cold temperatures to move into Charleston area Saturday

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – Snow and dangerously cold temperatures will move into the Lowcountry on Saturday through Sunday.

A winter storm warning is in effect for the entire state of South Carolina. For the tri-county, snow accumulations between three and six inches are possible with winds gusting as high as 35 mph. Snow accumulations for Georgetown and Williamsburg counties will be between five and eight inches, with locally higher amounts possible.

Travel could be very difficult due to slick roads and blowing snow, specifically Saturday afternoon through early Sunday morning.

“Snowfall totals will depend on where heavier bands set up, but the majority of us will receive 2-4″ of snow, with higher totals in spots,” said Storm Team 2 Chief Meteorologist Rob Fowler…
