CHARLESTON COUNTY, S.C. (WCSC) — Charleston County staff have one more day to finalize the first draft of a proposed transportation sales tax extension expected to go before voters in November.
County officials are set to present the draft Wednesday during a county retreat at the Park Circle Community Building. The presentation was originally scheduled for the Jan. 13 County Council meeting but was delayed after the mayors of Charleston, Mount Pleasant and North Charleston requested additional time.
The new deadline was Friday, meaning staff have had four days between receiving priority lists from the county’s three largest municipalities and preparing the draft proposal for the county council.
